1998 Low-Key Hillclimbs

Thanks to the Ron Brunner, Dean Larson, Pat Parseghian, and Fred Butts the 1998 Low-Key Hillclimb data has been restored! In 1998 your intrepid webmaster was in Austin Texas where he remained for three years. But Low-Key was in good hands, as Giorgio Cosentino took over the reigns of the web space (until his ISP went under and took the data down with it) while Tracy Colwell did an excellent job tabulating scores.

Fortunately, Dean kept printouts of the results, which we've re-entered by hand. Standings have been regenerated using Perl scripts. They mostly agree with the original point totals. The only difference is in how volunteer points were allocated. I've chosen to keep the practice of using rider median score for volunteer weeks, rather than the practice originally used in 1998, which is to use the rider's previous score. Each has its advantages, but this keeps the scores more consistent with other years.

So thanks for checking out these classic Low-Key results. It's been a lot of fun regenerating them.
