2019 Ultra Low-Key Hillclimb Series Overall Results

Another successful Low-Key season has ended. Though still tiny compared to Low-Key's glory days under Dan Connelly's leadership, we've pulled off a second year of ULKHC, with this time nine hillclimbs, unhindered by smoke, and even dodging the Thanksgiving freeze. We attracted some new riders, and regained some of the older crowd.

For the second year in a row, Andrea Ivan pulled off the overall win for the women. Lacking in speed, she made up for it by persistence and strategic planning. Congratulations! Good job, Andrea! Next year - a hat trick?

In the men's competition, Matthew Perry took the prize with five of five weeks counting, dominating the field. Like Andrea above, he did exactly what he had to do to for the overall win, and certainly did not lack in speed! Congratulations! Good job, Matthew!

Probably the most exciting theme of the series was the head-to-head rivalry between Shai Traister and Dennis M. Shai seemed to be en route to victory as perpetual second behind who-ever won. He finally got a victory over Dennis on Dirty Madonna, and again, but barely, on Hamilton. But it wasn't enough to turn the tables on Matthew, though the latter cracked and lost some time on the 3rd climb of Hamilton. Congratulations to Shai and Dennis for the podium spots, and thank you for the entertainment!

We had the same number of men this year as last - 56, though many of the names have changed; and we had more women.

Finally, we had two survivors in the 100% club: Shai Traister, and Your's Truely.

Until Montebello 2020, everybody please stay safe and go get 'em!
